  Hi All,

  I want to create linked server from my local to database which is residing on 192.168.10.161.

  I want tables which is residing on 192.168.10.161 server.

  I have tried but it gives me following error

  The linked server has been created but failed a connection test

  SQL Server Network Interfaces: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF].

  OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI11" for linked server "SAMPLEMART_LINSVR" returned message "Login timeout expired".

  OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI11" for linked server "SAMPLEMART_LINSVR" returned message "A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online.". (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: -1)
