Issues Setting up Mirroring SQL 2008 R2 from Windows 2008 server to Windows 2012 Server

  I am having issues setting up mirroring between an old server and a new server that we are migrating to. Was wondering if you had any ideas of what we might be able to do to fix this issue.

  - I am able to successfully setup mirroring between the new servers (Windows 2012 / SQL 2008 R2) without issues.

  - I am able to setup replication from an old server (Windows 2008 / SQL 2008 R2) to a new server (Windows 2012 / SQL 2008 R2).

  - But when I try to setup mirroring between an old server (Windows 2008 / SQL 2008 R2) and a new server (Windows 2012 / SQL 2008 R2), I get an - error that the destination server can’t be reached on port 5022.

  - I can successfully telnet from the new server to the old server and I can successfully telnet back from the old server to the new server on port 5022.

  do you have multiple instances on server002, that's what your diagram implies.

  With multiple instances you'll need to pick a separate, unique port number
