Error After Upgrading from 2008 to 2014

    Hi,

    I'm having issues with opening my cubes in BIDs after upgrading my database from 2008 to 2014.

    Deserialization failed: The 'AllowedRowsExpression' element in the 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2011/engine/300/300' namespace is unexpected.

    The 'AllowedRowsExpression' element in the 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2011/engine/300/300' namespace is unexpected. (Microsoft.AnalysisServices)

    Any help here would be appreciated. How can I solve this ?

    Could it be that you're still using BIDS and not SSDT? You'd have to open your solution in SSDT for SQL 2014 to effectively upgrade your solution.

    Hi,

    I have figured it out. You need to install VS tools seperately and BIDS is no longer part of the 2014 package. Not sure why Microsoft didn't just include it as a part of the package.
