2012 SSRS Shared Data Connection Problem

  • Hello,

I've got a weird problem. The domain account password we user for our report data source connection has changed. I've change the password to the new one on our shared connection, which works and I can run the reports.

However, after about 30 seconds, the reports stop working and the password reverts back to the original and thus fails subsequent authentication.

If I change the account to a completely different one, it gets overwritten within 30 seconds back to the original with the wrong password.

Even if I delete the connection, it re-appears after a few seconds, with the wrong connection information.

I'm guessing the credentials must be stored within the reporting database somewhere.

If I create a new connection, this works and doesn't change. Thing is I've got about 200 reports that would need changing and I can't find a way of doing this all at once.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

    Richard.

  • Hi

Maybe it is due to the cache ?

Did you try restarting the SSIS Services ?

:w00t: !!!GOOGLE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!!! :w00t:

  • I ended up deleting the data connection, recreating it, then updating each report to use the new connection.

Not a pleasant job considering there was 400 reports.

    TGG.
