Metadata in output columns does not match external column metadata

  Hi I have an excel spreadsheet in the data flow task of SSIS 2012. it was working fine but on the last ETL the excel file must of changed in some way as the end date column in the data is now coming through as NULL in the table. Previously it was loading as both Nulls and dates which is correct and I need this date for reporting.

  The message I am getting in the SSIS 2012 data flow task is"

  "the metadata of the following output columns does not match the metadata of the external columns iwth which the output columns are associated."

  Output "Excel Source Output": "ColumnName", "ColumnName2" etc.

  Do you want to replace the metadata of the output columns with the metadata of the external columns?

  I have tried a few things I have answered YES but the date column is still all NULLs i have tried to change the data types but does not do anything. I am in my first stages of maintaining this server sql 2012 can anyone help with how I fix this so the dates come through as before?
