management->SQL Error Log-> list of error files are not expanding, what could be reason and how to resolve this issues?

has this only just started happening? have you come out of SSMS and gone back in to try it again? and is it affecting anyone else?

yes. this only just started happening then after sometime error message display.

try and come out of ssms and go back in first. on the server check the eventvwr logs for application and system. And verify the log files are on the server and are accessible.
They are in the path below by default, and called errorlog, errorlog.1 etc. you can open them with notepad to view the content.

Error log file opened out side of ssms as below location. But not opening at SSMS and there is no error message in event viewer at application side.

try running EXEC sys.xp_readerrorlog on the instance in question. Looks like someone else had similar issue here

Identified that root cause issues, error log file not expanding in ssms due to SQL Native client 11.0 - client protocols - shared memory disabled, It is opened in ssms after enabled
