Hello
I am currently looking to take on a supplier software where the database is SQL server 2014, SQL server will only be accessed by 2 people to administer however via the suppliers application there will be 10 users and indirectly there will be a integration section. from reading the information on i think i will need the following to ensure i am fully licensed.
1. SQL server licence
12 CAL's
1 device CAL

I don't know what you mean by an "integration section" so I don't know how that would need to be licensed. With such a low number of users, it sounds like you'll probably be better off with the CAL model than with the per core model. However, licensing is not my strong suit, so I would suggest that you call up a reseller and have a chat with them. We use CDW and they have a Microsoft licensing person on staff that's been able to answer any question I could come up with.

Thanks guys , in the documentation on licensing It says,

Each user and/or device accessing a licensed SQL Server requires a SQL Server CAL

When I say there will be an integration section, the software has a integration engine that pulls information from sql server processes it and then sends this on to another system.

My understanding is the integration engine requires 1 device licence.

I will try a sql server partner like you suggest

I believe server/cal licensing is not available for Enterprise edition, just in case that's what you need to install.
