Import data Failing

  • Hello Masters,

I have installed SQL 2014 (Evaluation Version) on testing machine. We want to import some excel files on database. I manually created one Test Database and now trying to import excel file. Import completed successfully but I am not able to see any table created as result of Import. I tried it 3-4 times and even restarted sql services but no luck.

Can anyone help me to know the cause ?

  • Hello Guys, I am able to do that.

One more query here, during import\export wizard, i seen one more option "Save as SSIS Package".

Is it saving those export file job anywhere ? Can we use same job for different file using this SSIS package ?

Support I will create a database Export and want to export excel file with same format daily, can I use SSIS package to do so ?

  • hi

if You save that package then it will be saved As SSIS package. but you wont be able to use the same job for different file.

and the next question :- answer is yes . you can create the ssis package to export the data and save it and then call that package through SQL AGENT JOB daily

    🙂 😉 😉

  • Once you go through import steps and get completed successful sign, you should be able to right click on the database, hit refresh, and then you should be able to see it in the tables folder. Hope this helps.
