how to grant access to crystal report user

    my sa account can not see the tables in the db. but can connect to the server

    I'm also not sure exactly how Crystal Reports works in terms of login, but if it's using a windows auth account per user, that user would also need to be added to the Server with at least read permissions.

    Yep; afraid I'm not all that familiar with Crystal Reports either, but with SQL Server you essentially have two choices:-

    Your DBA will either grant access to the relevant database to the Windows user that Crystal runs under, or they will give you a SQL login and password which, again, they have set up to have the appropriate rights.

    You need to talk to your DBA!
