  • I am a bit stumped by error generated when attempting to connect to the report url.

    The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.

    The only thing I can think of is a certificate is issued to the server (all domain devices) via group policy by cert authority running on the domain.

    If I check the bindings within Report Services Configuration Manager the certificate is referenced.

    I have tried removing 443 but I am still unable to connect.

    Has anyone come across this issue? I have 'googled' and the solutions posted did not apply in my instance.

    Kind Regards,

    Phil.

    A neutron walks into a bar. "I'd like a beer" he says. The bartender promptly serves up a beer. "How much will that be?" asks the neutron. "For you?" replies the bartender, "no charge."

    Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, 'I think I've lost an electron.' The other says 'Are you sure?' The first says, 'Yes, I'm positive... '

  • I amended RSReportServer.config file.

    I have changed line:

    <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="2"/>

    to

    <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/>

    I am now able to connect. I am not sure why SSL connection was failing as the cert referenced is installed on local computer in trusted store.

  • This is bugging me now! The certificate name matches the server name so why will only <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/> function?

    Report Server Web Service Site Identification: SSL Certificate = SQL-SERVER-NAME.

    IE displays certificate error. Issued to = SQL-SERVER-NAME

    The cert is valid until 2017.
