We are in the process of upgrading all our Reporting Services reports from Visual Studio 2005 to Visual Studio 2012 and I am having a hard time adjusting to the new software.
In VS 2005 the value of an expression was visible in the design pane of Reporting Services, but not in VS 2012. I read online that to view the value of an expression in the Design pane you hover over it and use the tooltip – nothing happens for me when I hover over an expression. Also, I don’t see the Placeholder Properties box or an option to insert a placeholder when I right-click in a text box. What am I doing wrong??
