How to give access to SSRS report to non domain users

  • Hi all,

We have a lot of external users who log into our web page and when they click a tab ( lets say MARKTING) on the web page, it points to the SSRS report server and the users should be able to run the report. However, our external ( non domain users) can not access the report. In other words, How Can I set up permission to access SSRS report to non domain users in SSRS 2012? Any help/ suggestions would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Ganesh

  • The report should run with stored credentials.

Store Credentials in a Reporting Services Data Source

  • Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, I do have stored credential to access to the database and run the reports. However, how to assign browser Role to the report folder for those non domain users? I have a url something like this: http://SSRS01/ReportServer/MsServices/Report1. How Can I set up browser role to our non domain users in order to be able to run the reports inside the MsServices folder?

    Ganesh

  • Not sure that you can within Report Manager.

Report access for visitors is usually implemented through web pages which use the ReportViewer control.

Or a public-facing SharePoint website (expensive though).

  • i am not sure if this will help.

since your users are external, why not try to create a group on your domain with the relevant users and then try to add those people to it.

then assign the group the relevant rights on Reporting services.

    try it maybe?
