Hey guys! My organization runs DBCC CheckDB once a week. I wish we could do it more often but that's what we finally decided on. What I'm wondering is, what other alerts can I put in place to help me detect database corruption?

You want agent alerts on all severity 20+ errors (you can set them on severity level) and on error 825. If you're doing checkDB once a week, make sure you retain all backups (full, diff and log) for at least a week.
