Does anybody now exactly when these data types will be deprecated? Article states "in the future after SQL 2012", but doesn't say exactly starting with what version of SQL? Appreciate the help.

found it. looks like sometime after sql 2014.

These data types are deprecated since the version SQL Server 2008. It seems that Microsoft still has customers using these old data types in actual workload and therefore they support them in 2014 too.

There's a bunch of stuff that's been on the deprecation list that's still not quite gone. Profiler and Trace Events are the big ones I'm curious about.

Those data types are still used by some SQL Server internal processes. Until these get rewritten I think they will stay in the product. They could disappear with any new version of SQL Server, but that will be after SQL 2014.
