  • When you save a query, it is saved as a .sql file on your hard drive.

This is typically in the My Documents\SQL Server Management Studio folder. You can organise your queries in projects if you want.

When you have a resultset, right-click on a cell, choose select all. Right-click again on one of the cells, choose Copy with Headers and then copy paste it into Excel.

An alternative is to select the Results To File query result in the toolbar. (CTRL-SHIFT-F)
