Note that in addition to sean's reference, there isn't just "replication" in SQL Server. There are different types, and the complexity, monitoring, and administration is different for them. You should understand how they work and practice with them.
Anything beyond basic snapshot or transactional isn't something I'd allow a beginner to set up, and even then you should ensure you have a resource (like a senior person or consultant), to ask questions of when things break.
