I have a Window 2008 R2 server 64-bit, SQL 2008 Enterprise 64-bit RTM I am doing large (hundred of millions of rows) BCP jobs and set the -a switch to 65535 but they all run at 32576 which I know was the max way back when but everything I read says 65535 is the max for the environment I'm working in.
What's not set? Where?
My sys admins can run stuff (non sql envriornment) at 65535 packet size
???? At a loss any help would be appreciated

More info.
Running this BCP from inside xp_cmdshell (has to do with validation issues)
SQL Server default packet size is set to 4096 ....
so think that perhaps there is something in the SSMS/Query/SQL environment that is constricting the packet size to 32576
