I have recently moved RS dbs to test servers using the detach and reaatach method.
What I didn't realise is that using the normal daily backups of my RS dbs couldn't be used on the new server.
Am I correct in thinking that if I needed to perform a rebuild of the LIVE server on new hardware ie the LIVE server is unobtainable.
1 . Previous backup of encryption key will be needed.
2. Backup of REPORTING SERVICES will be needed, which have been backed up using the WITH COPY ONLY method.
3 Restore DBs on New server.
4 Configure via RS Config tool, restore encryption key etc.
If I am correct, I imagine there are many DBAs backing up REPORTS db and REPORTSTEMPDB without the WITH COPY ONLY option and if they needed to rebuild a new server without the use of the current server they would be well and truely stuck.
Is this correct if so I have learnt something very valuable today.

Normal backup works fine for me.
With COPY is prefered by MS but not essential. It's not a show stopper.
