there will be few checks before staging build
1. sufficient space on log and data drives plus tempdb drives too 2. from where to keep backup files and all backup are available or not 3. what would be downtime and impact of staging server. 4. no application or user should be connected during this
but yes after data refresh there are couple of things
1. all required databases got restored ot not ? 2. job 3. login fix 4. implementation of DR if required. 5. application mapping 6. web servers and other servers configuration setting 7. sometimes data masking is also required to avoid security breach

Make sure to remove / change email addresses etc.
It's a simple point, but could have horrible consequences if overlooked.

David McKinney (10/12/2012) Make sure to remove / change email addresses etc.
It's a simple point, but could have horrible consequences if overlooked. that is part of data masking
