Hello Masters,
How the shrinking works? What happened when shrinking log file or DB file ? on my test db (whose actual size was 3400 MB), I went to shrink task and shrink log file and now db size is 610 MB!!
I shrink log file, than how db file shirnked ? Is it affecting any production?
In shrink action, second option is "Shrink File to" and than we have to feed some numeric value in MB, whats that factor is ? how that count is used to shrink a file?
Please if anyone can explain me it will be helpful for me to work on production.
thanks in advance.
Jitendra

Jitendra,
You might want to review this URL:

It provides a good oversight to concerns when shrinking your database. Hope this helps.
