Can anyone explain me that do we get any performance issues when we implement database auditing on whole database. This database is used very limitedly though..but still I want to know by auditing
in this format, do we get any performance impact on database or not
I am implementing auditing : SCHEMA LEVEL AUDITING
CREATE DATABASE AUDIT SPECIFICATION Example2
FOR SERVER AUDIT ADEVNTUREWORKSAudit
ADD (INSERT,UPDATE,DELETE,SELECT
ON SCHEMA::dbo
BY public)
WITH (STATE = ON)
GO
If someone could explain me that would be great. Thanks

Linchi Shea did some great analysis on this very question.
The performance impact of SQL 2008 R2 Audit and SQL Trace
He also did a 3-part series on the perils of using
synchronous
auditing in SQL Audit. Well worth a read.
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Hope these help.
