Hello,
I need to know the cretical things while designing the database architecture without using it the database system get collaps..?
Actually i am going to design a online exam database so what precausions i need to take..

That's a very large topic and I'm not going to be able to tell you everything now.
First, be sure you know what the anticipated load on the system will be. This can help you figure out if you have enough memory, CPU and disks. After that, you need to make sure you set up a good backup plan to ensure you have the ability recover things should they fail. You'll also need to talk to the business about the need for high availability solutions such as mirroring or clustering.
There's just too much to do more than suggest you gather a lot more information.
