Does anyone know where I can find the documentation(online) for v6.5? Specifically I'd cherish a list of valid system views in 6.5, i.e. which ones are today's equivalent of sys.dm_exec_connections, sys.databases, etc. etc. I know 6.5 allowed access to the syslogs view (to see inside the t/logs - hurrah) but aside from this nugget, I'm not sure what views were available in this product.
Reason being I have to troubleshoot a 6.5 box later today, considering this was released when I was 12 years old I am anticipating some trouble.
Wish me luck / send me links! Thank you.

Not sure where you would find such a beast.. But 6.5 did have BOL but it was not near as good as today's BOL.
I am thankful to say I haven't had to work on 6.5 since about 2003.. Now if I could just rid myself fully of SQL 2000 that would be great..

Do not know if BOL is included, but here is where you could download SQL Server 6.5, and see if BOL is included.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Thanks everyone, I'll see if BOL is included in the download.

No, the download is duff. But vetusware.com (the abandonware site) purports to have SQL Server 6.5 in 20 .rar parts. I've downloaded it but sadly part 3 is missing so it's useless.
I'll keep looking and if I find it I'll post a link.

I have 3 SQL Server 6.5 books gathering dust in my garage...
The SQL Server 6.5 Performance Tuning and Optimization guide by Ken England
Planning and Building a high performance database by Robert D Schneider
SAMS SQL Server 6.5 Programming Unleashed
I don't know if these are any good to you. I'm not looking for any money for them (other than to cover postage). Of course, postage may be too expensive, depending on where you're based. I'm based in the UK.
PM me if you are interested.

Very kind - but I've managed to resolve the issues for now. It was the tempdb database filling up (pegged at 2*MB*! Not a typo!) I extended logsegment using sp_extendsegment onto a newly-created database device (which is a logical mapping of a .dat file to a database object), made a couple of other configuration changes and the problems are solved.
I've still got a copy of Que's Computer Glossary (board-bound) on my shelf, explaining such modern concepts as 'parallel ports' and 'World Wide Web'!

I've located and hosted SQL Server 6.5 with documentation, see main thread post here ->

As usual, thanks to everyone who went out of their way to help me with the original query!
