Hi Steve, I wish you and your family as well as everybody on SSC a splendid and blessed 2012. May we all prosper in the New Year. My goal (rather than resolution) is to be much more active on SSC in the new year again and to learn much, much more about SQL Server. I have sort of stagnated this year because of two hip replacements I had and also had to battle to keep depression from my door which unfortunately I did not always succeed in doing that but I am closing this year on a high note and hope to be much more energetic in the new year and live my life in such a way that people will want to be in my company. That unfortunately was not true this year.

I hope my career will be turned upside down in the literal sense.
I mean, I'm currently waiting for the decision on my Australian visa application. If successful, next year I'll move Down Under

Still trying to move into iOS development full-time.
I love Siberian Huskies, and I love running, so for 2012 I have set myself a goal of running a Canix event in the UK with a Siberian Husky. I don't have a Husky, so I'm going to see if I can borrow one for the day!

Happy New Year to all.
2011 was my Mayan year. 2012 healthy and more active. Lots of BI work.
Thanks to SSC and members for so much help and friendship over the years.

What would you like to do differently in your career in 2012? Hmmm.... Learn to cope with MS SQL licensing changes. Speak in a kinder voice, act in a friendlier manner, continue to treat others as I expect to be treated, with respect and honesty. Further my education in .NET and SQL in ways that don't cost exorbitant amounts of money (thank you SQL Server Central!!)
Basically, at this time, I think just being able to hang onto my career and the ability to support my family are paramount. I honestly do not know what I would do if I was laid off or "downsized". I will take a paycut, stop complaining and keep the "proverbial nose to the grindstone".... and hope that come budget time in May I'm still employed and able to read the QOTD.
I hope all at SQL Server Central have a wonderful New Year.

Thanks Steve for this venue. I have picked up a lot over the months I have subscribed to SSC and find the articles, quizzes, and contributing responsive very valuable. Thanks to a co-worker who shared and tuned me in. Happy New Years to the SSC Crew and all subscribers; hope that 2012 is flourishing in grace & goodness.
Adding...my 2012 New Years resolution is to gobble up more knowledge.

| After an intensely busy 2011, in which I put in LONG hours for months, I want to regain some life balance. I haven't spent any time on my favorite activities for the past two years! So it's time to sign up for some hobby-related classes as a way to commit some of my time to personal interests.

Happy New Year to you all!
My resolution is to do less hands-on work and more coaching of the junior members of the team. And walk my dog more often, weather permitting.
