Hi,
I'm given my report requirements (Labels, layout, columns, tables) as an excel template which I convert into SSRS reports. At the moment, I'm manually creating the rdl files, based on excel templates and then do the SQL queries and complete the report. In the coming weeks I've a high volume of reports that need to be developed. My question is, is there a way I can automate the process of converting an excel template to rdl file so that I can focus on writing SQL rather than spending time on manually creating the templates first in SSRS. I've been told that there was a developer before me in the team who had a tool\technique to convert excel file into rdl. All I need is a shell .rdl file, i can do minor adjustments on the converted file later on. Please advise if this is possible as it will reduce the turn around time quite significantly.
Regards,
