I’m trying to install IBM Infosphere CDC (old DataMirror Transformation Server) and I receive the message:
IBM Infosphere Change Data Capture has detected multiple backups to the same file: C:\backups\mybase.trn.

I deleted the file mybase.trn but still receive the same message.
There is a requirement of Infosphere CDC to have only one backup in each file.

I have SQL server 2000 SP4.
Can anybody help me?

have you checked the backup settings in infosphere, it may well be the case it is holding the old file path in two places.

Hi santuzzo01,

Hope you have resolved your issue with the backup. Seeing that you've got that kind of a problem tells me that you have made some progress at least with somewhat running the CDC against SQL Server 2000. I am currently trying to set it up for evaluation.
Maybe you can advise me with how to resolve a problem I have. There is a clear need behind having to have CDC metadata tables in a separate schema (database) to the one I want to replicate. Regardless of how I set up the dedicated CDC user and DB I am not able to get the CDC to put those 3 tables whilst creating the very first CDC instance.
I tried getting in touch with IBM but they are not really able to help so far.
What was you experience with this? Were you able to separate the CDC tables?
