How to configure E-mail alerts for a backup plan

  Hello everyone,

  Version : SQL Server 2005/2008

  I have backup maintenance plan,Now i want configure alerts,If backup sucess then send mail as success,if failure then send as fail like that....

  1) I was try SQL Server Surface area configuration >> surface configuration for features >> database mail I enabled and apply...

  2) Then i got >> MAINTENANCE PLAN >> Database Mail >>

  Then i Configure Database Mail

  and after i tested >> send TEST Mail but i am not able to send..... ????

  3) SQL Server ajent >> Jobs >> test_new (jobname) >> properties >> notifications >> here i am not able to get/write email address ????

  How to configure this email alerts for backup maintenance plans..... ???
