Hi there,
I am receiving the following error while installing SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition.
Error 1625 installing Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Developer edition setup support files. This installation is forbidden by system policy.
Could anybody there help me out what is the issue associated with Error 1625..?

at a guess your login credentials dont allow you to install the software, group\local policy in force maybe?

It's definitely a security issue based on Windows, not SQL Server. This is the type of error you'd get with either of the security issues mentioned by Perry. check with your system administrator.

What operating system are you running? Is your workstation a member of an active directory domain? If so, is there a GPO being applied blocking the windows installer from being run?
