SQL 2005 Express on Shared Server

  • I have looked all over the internet for an answer to this issue. We have one SQL 2005 instance installed on a shared server. Is it possible to lock one particular table out from another DBA or even just "hide" it from view. I'm fairly new to SQL 2005, so I don't understand the schemas and stuff that well (I didn't have to use it in SQL 2000), but I have tried the "deny view any databases from public" and a host of other methods that I have found - all to no avail. I think the problem is both DBAs are in the 'sysadmin' group which gives a lot of power over all of the databases. Thanks in advance.

  • Nevermind. I fixed it. I was unaware that you could install multiple instances of sql.

  • Thanks for the update.

Is this strictly a security issue? I'm wondering why someone can be a sysadmin in one db and not another? Are you a sysadmin in the other and not the one?
