As a senior member of the engineering team for you will champion the architectural integrity, consistency, and long term future of the division's products. You will assist senior management in charting future product and technology strategy and provide leadership to the technical community, particularly the organization-wide design team of principal engineers.
You must be knowledgeable in all aspects of designing and constructing data-centric hosted solutions from a database perspective. Excellent knowledge in operational data design, implementation and on-going data management practices is essential. You must have deep experience in the techniques, practices and principles surrounding hosted data management
technology.
The successful candidate must be comfortable in a senior role within a dynamic development environment. You must also be able to work in a matrix environment with both existing and new data-centric systems projects working with in-house and off-shore software teams to build great systems. Recent and large scale experience with logical and physical data modeling and database design, transaction processing, DBMS optimization, recovery and load strategies, and implementations is essential.
Success in this role requires the ability to work effectively at multiple levels ranging from in the trenches with individual engineers,to at the white board with senior designers and managers, to around the board room table with senior corporate executives. This means that you need to be comfortable and effective communicating in many different ways and advancing an agenda through personal credibility and
influence. This position reports directly to the division's Chief Architect.
