Could you possibly clarify something for me please? If it is not possible to navigate a recordset one record at a time in either direction using a cursor then why provide the fetch commands to accomplish this type of navigation (or at least that's what their function appears to be. Seems very similar to move first last next and previous in Access. Not trying to pick a fight, just trying to understand. Thanks.
A recordset and a cursor are very different things. They seem the same as there are some similar behaviors but they are implemented in very different ways.
Understanding how a cursor works and the links provided for that should help.
