Hii all!
This is, as so much else, not my core knowledge.
I have a DB placed on an MSSQL 2014 server on one of my servers.
I have ESET NOD 32 as AV.
Made a program, that should communicate with the MSSQL server from the outside.
Think I should open port 1433/1434, but not sure about its safe, and 'How to'
Any who wants to share knowledge?
Best regards

you'll need 1433 for a default instance, if a named instance then you'll need the following
TCP 1433, 1434, [portfortheinstance]
UDP 1434

"From the outside" ... of what? The server? The domain? The network?
If you haven't even tried to resolve your issue, please don't expect the hard-working volunteers here to waste their time providing links to answers which you could easily have found yourself.

Yes, not very clear!
From outside the local network. My net connection is via a static ip adress, and i connect via:
"External IP adress",databasename,user, pw
The instance is a named instance.
Humble regards
