I really enjoy utilising new technology but as a mature developer I have one fundamental question when a team (including me) wants to roll out new tech:

After the team is disbanded and completion of the project, how will this new tech be supported and by whom?

If this can't be answered to the satisfation of both the development and the management teams then quite simply it should not be used.

I agree so much that there isn't a number high enough to express it.

On a wider note what this is describing are NFRs (non-functional requirements) which are frequently NSRs (non-stated requirements) that turn out to be the most important requirements of all.
