Hi all,
I'm trying to understand if there is an issue with running SQL Server 2014 SP1 on 512e formatted disk which is what I believe our disks are configured too ?
fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo returns :
Bytes Per Sector : 512
Bytes Per Physical Sector : 4096
Bytes Per Cluster : 65536
O/S is Windows Server 2012 R2
I've found several articles around the subject but they seem to be several years old and only apply to early version of SQL Server
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/psssql/2011/01/13/sql-server-new-drives-use-4k-sector-size/
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2510009
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/926930
Just trying to understand if this should be cause for concern or not. Judging for the last link updates were required for SQL Server 2008 /2012 but no mention of 2014.
Many thanks in advance
