A good question in which I guessed correctly. Further reading brought me to a remark concerninga potentially damagingside affectif the timeout occurs in a transaction and is not handled properly.According tothe SQL Server Books on-line,the complete transaction will not be rolled back if the timeout occurs and the error is not handled specifically. I like to think that I handle all possible errors within explicit transactions, but is the Books-on-line implying that the timeout error 1222 is more of a warning level that will not trigger a standard error handling routine?

    Good question. Wondering that myself.
