Manage SQL Server 2008 R2 with SSMS 2014 Job Activity Monitor Filter error

  • I am having trouble with SSMS 2014 managing a 2008 R2 Enterprise SQL Server with SP3 installed. The activity monitor opens fine. I can filter by name if it type in the exact name of the job, but if I try searching for part of the name it always returns no results. Then the activity monitor doesn't work again until I close it and reopen it. I have this same problem under category filter too. When I connect to SQL Server 2008 is works fine, it is just 2008 R2 that is a problem.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? How do I fix it?

A co-worker has SSMS 2016 installed and has the same problem.

I currently manage the server using SSMS 2008, but want to move to SSMS 2014 full time if I can get this problem fixed.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Adam
