Wish I could be more help, but I don't know anything about Universe DB. I just looked at the documentation, http://www.adbk.se/manuals/uv10/uvdoc/UniVerse/Sqlref.pdf, to try to provide some help. Since the source of the error is the driver/DB and not SSIS, I can't be of anymore help.

The only other suggestion I might have is to do a quick .NET application that connects and tries to run the query and see if you can get the same error.
