  • I believe you can import the objects from your Access97 database to a .mdb or .accdb format database in Access 2007 and have most things work. You would choose the External Data ribbon and specify Access as the source. However, you want to first verify a couple of things - the database should not be a .mde version, and it should not have a custom .mdw file associated with it. The .mde version would be a compiled version, so you wouldn't be able to import forms, reports and code. The .mdw issue would mean that Access User Security has been applied to it, and you would need some high-level technical assistance in order to extract objects.
