I am planning on upgrading to ArcGIS server 10.3. We are currently at sqlserver 2008 and and want to upgrade to SQLserver 2014. Has anybody here done that? Is SS 2014 a bit faster? Can you still do an updade so you don't have to crecreate everything again?

check with the vendor whether they support SQL Server 2014 at the ArcGIS product level you are intending to use

I checked with ESRI and they support SQQQQLServer 2014.

It is definitely faster, more of a difference on the ArcGIS side than the SQL Server side (depending on what version you are coming from) although in my experience the SQL Server 2014 is the fastest yet.

We are at SQLserver 2008.
I need to justify the upgrade to my boss.
Speed is a big reason.
