Hi, all
I have W authentication on 2012, when I do connect my engine it takes 5+ seconds, when I do right click / modify any SP it takes 10+ seconds. This is pretty busy server but our db said that it's set OK,
enough RAM, enough space, resources.
And I think if you try to open any sp it doesn't require any space, so it could be some other problem, probably inside SSMS, not sure could it be network, how I can check myself connection to that server.
I also heard that MS Server Authentication is much faster then W, so maybe it's alos could be the reason? I basically trying to get this accidental dba skills, so will really appreciate you input / help.
I don't have any special tools, but I have dba rights, so can dig deep inside to check.

Quick thougt, sounds more like a network/name resolution issue unless the server is very busy. Try this when you know that the server is less busy, look into the tcp/ip protocol setup on both the client and the server and you can even add the server alias using the cliconfg utility.
