I have VS 2012 Ultimate installed on my 64bit PC and it is starting to drive me nuts. I can open a solution or project just fine. But when I try to close the solution (under the File menu) or just pick a different solution / project from recent or even create a new project, it suddenly stops working (complete with the generic "Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem" message) and then restarts VS 2012. No specific errors, no nothing.
My google fu does not appear to be helping as all the threads I can find are on how VS doesn't open projects or solutions or has trouble linking when it does open. My problem is on the close.
I even updated recently to make sure I wasn't missing any important service packs. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be going on?

That sounds annoying.
Have you tried sfc and doing a repair install on your VS installation?

I've tried repair install. I even looked for a couple of registry keys blamed for the problem (which don't exist on my system, so I can't delete them as per the recommended solution). I'll look at SFC. I don't remember if I ran it or not.
