Render to PDF and resetting page numbers does not work when run from Report Server

  • Hi Everyone,

I'm having a rather strange problem. I've got a report that produces statements for a group of people. The report has a header with a text box that I conditionally suppress if the current page is greater than 1. I also have a group defined for each person (i.e. Jones, A, Smith A, etc.) with a page break between groupings with the Reset Page Number toggled to true. All of this works just fine when I run the report in Visual Studio 2010 and then save the report as a PDF. The text box in the header is displayed on the 1st page in for each group item and suppressed if there are multiple pages for each person.

However, when I deploy the report to the SSRS server (SQL 2012), run it, and save it as a PDF, the PDF renderer resets the page number to 1 for EVERY page (which then displays the header text on every page). The report is targeted to SQL 2008 R2 and later when it is deployed.

Any thoughts, helps, tips, etc. on how to resolve/fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Joel

  • Correction - The report server is SQL Server 2008 R2 w/SP2.
