Just thought I'd ressurect his thread with a couple of (hopefully) quick question.

1) As I'm currently using on-the-fly collation in a lot of my scripts (using "COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS"), will this need to be removed if I change the collation on the tables/columns or will it be ignored?

2) As things stand (with the COLLATE clause in place), I assume there's a cost (CPU/RAM) when the script hits this bit.

Is my assumption correct and does anyone know the cost?
