Data Collector ( MDW )

    Hi guys, someone has experience with this ?

    Is it possible that default counters caused problem with performance ? Specially with writing to disk ?

    While configuring Data Collection it will create one database in which it will store the data collection. So definitely it will create some disk i/o however it depends on what you collect and how often?

    I know,

    I created 12.3. with default collection sets - I didnt see problem

    29.3 I turn off Query statistics because I/O to tempdb due to dmw selects was increased

    and today night I saw problem with delay to writing to disk...in report from MDW I saw that biggest I/O was to this MDW database.

    I have just Server Activity and Disk Usage, there is not so much to write to MDW database. And due to this insert was delay on our database.

    But I dont understand, this cache for 15minutes was about 30MB.

    I have Disk usage every 6hours and Server Activity every 15minutes...
