SQL Server Setup failure

  • I'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2003 R2. As soon as I run the setup.exe I get the message "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application".

I have researched the error and all I can find is that I need .Net Framework installed which I do and I am still getting the same error. I tried repairing the .Net Framework versions but no luck. Any ideas on what it causing this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Have you tried a different set of binaries? I've had issues before with the binaries I was using so used a different set and it worked ok.
