Using the Management Studio Copy Database Wizard - is there a way to change the default destination folder for database and log files?
Even if I set the DefaultData and DefaultLog path in the server properties the Copy Database Wizard suggests the SQLServer default data folder (i. e. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\MSSQL\DATA).
Thanks for any help.

Pretty easy to change, however I'm not 100% certain you'll need to restart the MSSQL service in order for it to take effect (check BOL)
Right-Click on your SQL Server instance, go to Database Settings, change the locations for both the Data and Log files under "Database default locations"

I have already set the Database default locations but they do not take effect for the Copy Database Wizard.
In my site, many users use the wizard to create test instances of databases, and there is always the risk of not changing the file location and filling up the system disk of the server.
