Logged into a SQL Server and not active state

  • Hi I need a little help in creating an email alert to my Team mentioning the list not active persons(Disconnected) on the server. I could see a lot of people logging into the server and when they are done, they never log off. They disconnect from the server.

    1) How to send an email listing out the names of people that are logged in?

    2) What are the disadvantages of people not logging off from the server.

  • As in remote desktop connections or sleeping SQL connections?

How many are you talking about?

  • Well Technically not more than 2 people can be active on our boxes. But I see 2 in active and atleast 5-6 disconnected.

    1) What are the disadvantages if a person does not log out off the server.

    2) How send an email to my team listing the disconnected aliases on the box.

  • Oh forgot to answer your first question. I was curious only about remote desktop connections
