I have SQL Server 2008 developer edition on my PC, and have installed SQL Server 2012 developer edition. I have visual studio team system 2008, and since installing SQL Server 2012, when I try to use a script task using the VS 2008, then in the project explorer references, the Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDts reference does not resolve correctly. This results in my being unable to find the Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime namespace, and this means I cannot reference external variables within my script task.
If I try to use a script task using SSIS 2012 in Visual Studio 2010, then this reference works correctly, and it is pointing to the 11.0.0.0 version. Is it possible that the SSIS 2008 is trying to use/find the 11.0.0.0 version? I managed to extract the 2008 version of Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDts from my GAC, but when I delete the reference and add this as a new reference, then while this seems to temporarily resolve my issues (my script stops displaying error messages everywhere), when I save the script and close it, then when I reopen the script, the reference that I just added is lost again.
Has anyone else encountered any issues like this when trying to create SSIS 2008 script tasks, while have SSIS 2012 installed?

Ok I've solved my problem, I needed to put my 10.0.0.0 managedDTS file into the x86 version of the folder.

Hi I am having the same trouble you describe. Can you please elaborate on what you did to fix it?
