how to find the utilization is high while we are running performance monitor

    1.Can any one say how to find [or how we can know ]the utilization is high while we are running performance monitor with sql server buffer manger and read/io and write/io counter added in the perfmon

  • The utilization of what? The word "utilization" does not mean anything by itself, it has to be applied to something, like a resource. "High CPU Utilization", "memory utilization", "disk io utilization", these all mean something.

    Currently, your question is too ambiguous, so please explain more.

  • i mean cpu utilization, or physical IO etc

    and another thing

    1.what can as a DBA we can look care for performance improvement of a server which is running sqlserver

    2. for performance issues like application team or client complains that for query execution it is taking so long time

    in this scenario what should i do or follow by which this issue may solve and for query execution makes faster what i have to do

    3.my DL have asked me to suggest some performance related ideas which may sort out this point 1 and point 2 types of issues

    here you can spend years to explain OR study about these terms .. your DL(TL) actually looking you as a consultant.:hehe:

  • ya but iwant to survie inthe client location which is now exploring more issues which i might not konw which i am learning from few months so idonw wnt to miss this opprtunity in my early stage hadling 4 + of work as a l1 and very rarely l1 will handel [4+]this l2 sorrt of work.

    if u can suggest technical advices rather than genral things its will be nice, and Its happens in everyonces life
