specify service account for Mirroring setup?

  • Principal & Mirror server - currently SQL service account running local windows users.

For the configure mirroring setps error with specify below steps

For SQL Server accounts in the same domain or trusted domains,

specify the service accounts below. if the accounts are non-domain accounts are in untrusted domain leve the testboxes empty.

(Here, I m not enter service account due to SQL service account Non-domain account)

    After the starting mirror point,

    Error number 1449,

ALTER DATABASE Command failed due to invalied server connection string.

    How to troubleshoot it?

  • why are you using local accounts for the services?

Are your servers part of a windows domain or a workgroup?

  • ok, server is not windows domain group? it is workgroup

  • server is non domain & sql service account running local user account should need to create database encryption certificate, and create login, grant connect to mirror end point etc..

If server is running windows domain & & sql service account running local user account, In this case also need to go for certificate, master key, login etc..

ADS team asking why you need to domain account for configure Database mirror? you can go for database mirror with local user account.

    Any sugesstion please..

  • If you're implementing mirroring on workgroup computers MS recommend you use certificates. For detailed information on how to implement mirroring in a workgroup see this link
